The golden outline of Kosovo on blue. Along with Cyprus, it is one of only two national flags depicting the country's own map.

An arc of six white stars for the main communities of Kosovo: Albanians, Serbs, Turks, Gorani, Roma and Bosniaks.

Proportions 5:7. A blue field bearing the country's map in gold at its centre, surmounted by an arc of six white five-pointed stars. The design was intended to be ethnically neutral.

The flag is honoured on 17 February, Independence Day.
It flies on public buildings and at official ceremonies.
Common conventions
Keep the flag clean and never let it touch the ground.
Never fly a torn or faded flag — repair or replace it.
Illuminate the flag if it stays up at night.
Never use the flag as clothing, packaging or advertising.
Dispose of a worn flag respectfully, not in the trash.
