Sun of liberty
A golden sun with eight broadening rays reaching the edges, called the new sun of liberty in the national anthem. It replaced the Vergina Sun in 1995 after a dispute with Greece.

The flag is honoured on 8 September (Independence Day) and 2 August (Ilinden).
It is raised from sunrise to sunset.
Common conventions
