Construction details

Proportions 2:3. Three horizontal bands red, yellow, red, the yellow band being twice as wide (1:2:1 ratio). The coat of arms, offset toward the hoist on the yellow band, gathers the emblems of the old kingdoms (Castile, León, Aragon, Navarre, Granada), a Bourbon fleur-de-lis, a royal crown, and the Pillars of Hercules bearing the motto 'Plus Ultra'.
