The full moon, considered the most favourable time in Palauan tradition for fishing, planting and celebration. It is set off-centre toward the hoist so it looks centred when the flag flies.

Specific rules — Palau

The flag is honoured on 1 October (Independence Day) and 9 July (Constitution Day).
It flies on public buildings and at official ceremonies.

Common conventions

Keep the flag clean and never let it touch the ground.

Illuminate the flag if it stays up at night.
